Maryland's Homegrown Heroes is a story that follows a diverse group of friends in various stages of their journey to use cannabis to treat different ailments. Follow four unique characters: Rūti Māya- an elderly black woman who uses cannabis for knee pain. Garufu O’Kito - a middle aged cannabis patient who uses cannabis to treat nausea. Jun Ishi - a disabled veteran who lives with untreated PTSD, anxiety, and chronic pain. He is curious about cannabis. Raijin Hainzu - a disabled veteran and attorney who uses cannabis to treat insomnia. He also works in cannabis compliance law.
As the story unfolds, you’ll witness their individual journeys of healing and self-discovery. Through humor, challenges, and triumphs, they learn not only how to grow cannabis but also how to connect and find relief in the process. Their personalities shine, whether it’s Rūti’s wisdom, Jun’s cautious curiosity, or Raijin’s thoughtful approach, bringing the story to life.
